What is Monel Alloy? Monel is an engineered alloy made from three different metals (typically nickel, copper and aluminum). The result is a lightweight, yet extremely durable frame. It's malleable and corrosion-resistant for easy fitting and long wear.

What is an 8 x 4 Base lens? A lens' Base refers to the amount of arc in the lens and therefore the arc in the frame. A 6-Base has a more flat, square shape creating a more scholarly look. A larger base, like a 9-Base, is more wrapped and therefore will appear more suited for active endeavors. In "8 x 4" the 8 refers to the horizontal arc and the 4 refers to the vertical arc.

What is an ARC lens? Holly smokes - all these lens questions! In short, it's Spy's optically correct distortion free lens. ARC stands for Accurate Radius Curvature. The lenses become thinner as they move away from the optical center of the lenses thereby eliminating any distortion.
